Professor Anuscheh Farahat is a legal scholar and teaches the seminar on human rights of refugees in the M.A. Human Rights programme.
Anuscheh joined FAU in 2019 as a professor for public law, migration law and human rights law. She regularly teaches fundamental rights law, migration law and public international law. Her research currently focuses particularly on issues of access to refugee protection in the Mediterranean, the realization of social rights in times of austerity and on contestation of human rights.
Before joining FAU, Anuscheh worked at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg first as a research fellow (2006 – 2009) and then as a senior research fellow (2014 – 2017), where she now is a senior research affiliate. Anuscheh also held a post-doctoral position at Goethe University Frankfurt, where she taught European law. In 2018 she was a visiting professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Anuscheh frequently advises civil society organizations, trade unions and academic foundations on migration law issues and human rights. She serves as a country expert for Germany in the Global Citizenship Network (GLOBALCIT).
