Kenya | Graduated in 2018

Thoughts on the programme: The human rights programme prepares students for career opportunities in international, public, and governmental service due to its interdisciplinary approach. Many aspects of the program provided direct links between international human rights law, politics, and philosophy. The program not only aimed to provide a theoretical understanding of the principles and issues in law but also, acquired reliable practical skills through field trips. Lastly, the faculty is a highly qualified group of academics and professionals who are committed to finding innovative ways to meet the educational needs of the students.

Professional Background: Prior to the Human Rights program, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in International Relations from United States International University in Kenya. I have vast experience in the human rights field having worked in NGOs and private institutions as well. I am currently in the process of finalizing my PhD enrollment at FAU where I intend to further my knowledge as well as contribute to the human rights field. My research interests span migration and forced displacement, children and global protection systems and gender-based violence in conflicts.
