Impressions from summer guest lectures

audience at Morten Kjaerums lecture

The MA Human Rights had the honour to host three more distinguished international guests this summer after Cecilia Medina Quiroga. Students, staff and the interested public had the opportunity to listen to and discuss with Morten Kjaerum from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Lund (Sweden), Prof. Dr Wouter Vandenhole from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and Dr Ingrid Leijten from the University of Leiden (Netherlands). Highlights included: Morten Kjaerums lecture on how to move forward with human rights in the face of increasing international populism and resistance to the concept, Wouter Vandenholes lecture on children’s rights and family values as well as Ingrid Leijtens lecture on core socioeconomic rights at the European Court of Human Rights. Some of their lectures held in Erlangen will be made publicly available on our website in due course.
