New Semester begins for MA in Human Rights

The 2025 batch for the MA in Human Rights program have completed their first semester of study and are getting ready to begin their second semester from April onwards! In the first semester, the students began their studies by delving into the foundations of human rights discipline. Two students from the batch share their experiences at the program so far:

“During the first semester, I particularly appreciated the program’s strong theoretical foundation. Coming from a professional background in the human rights field, I found the courses on Philosophy, Politics, and Law of Human Rights especially valuable. They allowed me to revisit my practical experiences through a deeper academic and conceptual lens. The interdisciplinary approach successfully connected legal frameworks with political realities and ethical debates, making the discussions both challenging and enriching.”

Husam Al-Eryani, Yemen

“This first semester has been a very enriching experience, especially in terms of gaining a more global and interdisciplinary perspective on human rights. It has allowed me to expand my understanding beyond a primarily national lens and engage with diverse approaches and contexts.

For the upcoming summer semester, I am really excited to continue learning from this international perspective, while also exploring new topics and discovering new dimensions within areas related to my professional background.”

– Natalia Mendivelso Guillen, Colombia

In the next semester, the students will delve into the specific fields of human rights in greater depth through electives of their choice!
