Thoughts on the programme: I learnt about the M.A. Human Rights programme from a current student, who shared the link in a Facebook group for Humanitarian Women. I followed the link and was impressed by both the interdisciplinary approach and the broad spectrum of specialization courses offered in the second semester. I currently work in a protracted humanitarian crisis. This programme empowers me with the skills and knowledge required to assess, understand, and seek solutions to human rights violations in humanitarian crises using a multifaceted approach.
The lecturers have a refreshingly genuine volition to impart knowledge and support students in their learning objectives. The rest of the faculty members are patient and always willing to help.
Professional background: I currently work in northeast Nigeria, supporting the coordination of the humanitarian response to the Boko Haram insurgency. Prior to this, I worked in various communications and advocacy roles, organizational management, and capacity building.
