Eva Blum-Dumontet is a digital rights expert and feminist policy advocate with over a decade of experience at the intersection of technology, human rights, and gender justice. She currently serves as Head of Movement Building and Policy at Chayn, a global nonprofit that supports survivors of gender-based violence. At Chayn, Eva leads several projects – including the launch of a feminist AI tool to help survivors of image-based abuse take down content shared online without their consent and a policy project on encryption as a feminist issue.
Previously, Eva spent eight years at Privacy International, where she led pioneering research into government surveillance, data exploitation, and the impact of technology on marginalised communities. Her investigation into menstruation tracking apps helped catalyse changes in industry privacy practices and remains widely cited in digital health policy discussions. She later joined the Royal Society as a Senior Policy Adviser, focusing on the ethical deployment of artificial intelligence in scientific research.
At the Centre for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU CHREN), Eva will be teaching a workshop on gender and AI.
