Colombia I Graduated in 2019

My thoughts on the program: I found the Master on Human Rights at FAU a very interesting programme, not only because of the diversity of topics touched upon, but also the methodology: depth analysis and real-life cases. The participation of students from all over the world made the experience more enriching. Learning from human rights issues in different countries and cultures was key to take my human rights knowledge to another level.

I would like to highlight the professor´s high academic and professional level. Their experience working in important human rights’ organisations, in research, advocacy and overall, their passion inspired me to continue my career.

My professional background: I have over 13 years of working experience. Starting as a professional in international business in different organisations in the UK and Colombia, I realised the importance of human rights and environmental protection

in the business context. At a later stage in my career, I worked as a Planning and Development Leader for a Colombian NGO promoting peace and reconciliation, followed by a position as Director of Sustainability in an apparel company in Colombia focusing in the development of the supply chain complying with human rights and environmental standards. Currently, I am working for a coffee trading company in Germany as a Sustainability Manager. My responsibility with the team is to develop and implement the sustainable sourcing strategy of the company to improve coffee smallholders’ livelihoods in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
