Pakistan | Batch 2020-2021

Thoughts on programme: I want to build a career in human rights advocacy by obtaining world class education and international exposure. Master of Arts in Human Rights at FAU provides me this platform. The experienced faculty, best-designed course outline, high reputation and research environment make this programme unique. The interdisciplinary nature of the course sheds light on legal, philosophical and political foundations of human rights. The programme enables students to carry out projects with partners in Germany and abroad. It will equip me with the knowledge necessary to build a career in humanitarian sector.

I am truly honored to be part of this international programme because it gave me a chance to interact with class fellows from around the world sharing their experiences on human rights. The diverse learning environment in this programme makes me happy and keeps me motivated to work for human rights.

Professional background: I am a human rights activist and social researcher in the development sector pertaining to higher education in Pakistan. I have worked as Research Associate at the Higher Education Department, Pakistan which provided me experience of public sector. I was also associated with multiple NGOs. I worked as an Administration Officer at Citizens Commission for Human Development. I was a Content Writer at All Pakistan Women Association. I have volunteered for Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, SOS Village, Sundas Foundation, and mentored at The Citizens Foundation.

I am the first girl in my traditional family who aspired to attain higher education abroad. After completion of my degree, I plan to establish my NGO which will provide assistance to women who do not have access and awareness of their fundamental rights. Focus of my NGO will be women from all strata of society who face domestic violence and gender discrimination. It will provide a platform to victims of human rights violations. This will help in building positive image of Pakistan in the world.
