Thoughts on the programme: The M.A in Human Rights exposes the students to not only theoretical aspects, but real life and current situations as well. The best part about the whole course is that all the students come from all over and various parts of the world. It was the most humbling experience to learn from one another, and the professors that teach the topics are also experts in their fields. This course does not just make you think about a problem from one perspective, but also from a legal, political and philosophical perspective.

Professional background: I have been in the Child Protective industry for about 5 years, 3 years in the the Child Protective Service in Singapore and working in a Children’s Home (for the abused and neglected) for about 2 years. My bachelors was in Psychology which carved the way for me in my work with neglected and abused individuals or families. It has also created a deep passion and interest in working with people who are less fortunate, particularly children and women with history of trauma or abuse. My goal is to be able to work against issues such as domestic violence, child pornography or human trafficking in the near future.
